happy new year

In very short order, there will be a New Year........It is hard to believe we are about to go into the second decade of the 21st Century....... Quite frankly, I'm still getting used to the year 2000....So, I am kind of shocked we are almost at 2011......Where did those ten years go? I don't know. But, all I can think of is how we waited for the year 2000 as if it might never come, and now---magically---it is over ten years later! So, we will pop a Cork to Celebrate the New Year that is almost upon us. I will have 'the usual suspects' here at my home to watch the clock strike 12 midnight........ We will have a lovely dinner.....Play the 'White Elephant' game, taking home many things we don't want but threw the dice for, and then sip a bit of Champagne and/or Martinelli's Sparkling Cider as we stand out on my deck and listen to Greater Los Angeles bring in the New Year along with all of us....... So here is wishing each and every one of you the most wonderful 2011 possible. Good Health, Great Happiness, and an Abundance of Laughter....the Best Medicine I know! I hope you all have a Very Happy New Years Eve, my dears....If you are out on the road, drive carefully. And, be sure to lift a glass for the safety of our troops wherever they may be.....May they all come home safe and sound and whole......

More To Come........

Happy New Year to you!!

I'm not a great fan of celebrating the new year, I'm not sure why, but we are going to some friends and family so it should make it a bit more fun anyway.

I hope this is a wonderful year for you Naomi.

Sounds like you will have a lovely New Year. We will be staying home as we have for many years. We order lobsters from the local fish market, they cook and crack them. We will have some bubbly, call our family and friends and maybe stay awake long enough to see the ball drop. We'll certainly raise our glasses to the safe return of the troops. God Bless.

Thank you Naomi for the fine wishes and I wish them right back to you: Good Health, Great Happiness and an Abundance of laughter. Those are the best sentiments that I have seen...I BELIEVE in laughter! Have a wonderful time with "the usual suspects (!)" and listening and watching the fireworks of LA. We are supposed to get an ENORMOUS storm on New Year's Eve, so our fireworks may be gigantic!

Truly, 2000 doesn't seem so far away; a second decade is almost here, I hadn't thought of it that way...What did the boy say when he threw the clock out the window???

Time Flies!! yup, laughter!

hugs,
Elizabeth

A blessed 2011 to you too, dear.

As for this post, when I saw the first photo, I was afraid you were already dipping into the sauce and thinking, "Wow! Naomi knows how to party!"

Cheers.

I hope you are full of energy and vigor for your New Years' Eve party. I'm sure the evening will be lots of fun, and you will be pooped by the end of it, but you'll have had a marvelous time.
2011 sounds like a futuristic date, and yet here it is upon us. I got an iphone a couple of months ago, and I am still overwhelmed by the technology of it and the thousands of available apps one can get to make the phone do so many amazing things. The future is upon us!!!
I wish you a happy, healthy, fulfilling, enriching 2011!!
Can't wait to read about the party and who attended and see some photos. Have fun, Naomi!!!

Gosh, I so agree, weren't we just wondering about Y2K? It is bad enough when the months and years fly by--but whole decades?? Not right.
Can't wait for the pictures of your celebration with the ladies.
Bestest ever New Year for you and those you hold dear Naomi and may this one pass a wee bit slower.

Happy New Year, my dear friend. You are a true jewel and you have enriched my life by all that you have shared. I know how time consuming blogging and sharing pictures can be, so that you consistently do it is like a perpetual gift throughout each year.

Much love to you.

Happy New Year, Naomi! I hope 2011 is going to be a great one for you. I always enjoy coming to your blog to see what you are thinking about this time of what gathering happened with your friends. It sounds like you have a fun one planned for tonight. We had intended to get together with friends but it fell though. Since I feel on the verge of a cold, I am kind of relieved and will enjoy a quiet end to what was a good year overall.

Hey Naomi! Hippity, hoppity Happy New Year!!! I'm spending this part of my evening on my own enjoying the peace and tranquility of this beautiful evening.......snow is in abundance here, but it's quite balmy for Dec. 31rst! I was going to stay in and just "be" tonight, but my son and I have decided we're going to "crash" our friend's party and surprise them! What fun!!
I love your White Elephant idea. Before Christmas, I had my own version of "Ladies who lunch" one evening. Instead of picking names for gifts and buying something, I arranged a "regifting" exchange....told them they could wrap up anything they wanted.... didn't matter how old it was (personally I was going to wrap up the boxes of books still lingering from my ex-husband and give them away but I decided I wouldn't be so catty) WELL! It turned into a White Elephant array of stuff people carted over here to dump! It was hilarious!! Most of it ended up at Value Village.... a second hand store in town.

May 2011 be filled with music, laughter, dancing and all round blessings! I am blessed to have you in my life.... we may be miles and miles away and only touch finger tips through a keyboard, but I feel that my life is far richer because you are in it.

God Bless Naomi. Love to you xxx

Dana.

Happy Happy New Year Naomi! I am like you, I just don't know where the time went. It doesn't seem that long at all that the Y2K panic was going on and now a decade has passed. I hope 2011 has wonderful things in store for you. Thank you for your nice note. It has been a hard few months but that comes to all of us at some point. Life isn't about easy and fun all the time! Martin was a great son and so having no regrets as to the care he gave his father gives him some peace I think.
