grrrrrr......

Late this afternoon I was just finishing a l-o-n-g complicated post that had taken days and days to put together....and.....and.....and.....friggin' guess who? Ate it! Chewed it up and ZAP....it was gone. Completely and Utterly. I do not know how or why that happened...but it did.

And it sent me screaming and crying, to my bed...... I'll be back.....and as Scarlett said....

"I'll think about it tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day...."

OY, OY, OY! I am not a happy camper, at all....... But in reality, it wasn't my computer that crashed. It was F***king Blogger....

Maybe There Will Be More To Come.....And Maybe Not.....UGH!

Oh my Naomi, I'm sorry but you had me laughing out loud! Never in my days would I picture you dropping an "F" Bomb! (No, you didn't spell it out all the way but you didn't have to!). I always pictured you as the sweet little innocent lady...but now, that picture is gone!!! LOL.
On a more serious note though (which I'm finding very difficult right now!), blogger can definitely suck. It's done the same thing to me before, too. So yes, I have to agree: F**king Blogger!!!!! :)

That has happened to me too in the past! How infuriating! You have written about it in a humourous way but I can still feel the undercurrent of your frustration. It's great that you have turned this catastrophy of blogging into an amusing post!

ah yes.. well.. isn't technology a wonderful thing?! and isn't there a "new button" (have to love upgrades..not!) saying that it continually saves? All this begins when they "improve" things!

Someday they will learn to leave things alone!... maybe...hopefully...... doubtful!

I am so sorry.... Blogger routinely eats my comments but usually if I think it has eaten my post, I just hit "back" and it pops up again. Recently they added this automatic save feature... every couple of minutes it saves the post as a draft but this is with the new blogger....I guess it really isn't new is it. Too many people trying to use it I guess. I'm sure the post was great and this one is too!

that is indeed frustrating. I am not fond of how the new blogger saves every so often without my request. I used to be able to edit something, think about whether I had improved it and if I decided I had not, I would just not save the new version. Now the only way I can that is write it in word first. Improvements aren't always improvements!

I am so sorry about that, Naomi! Many times Blogger can be really frustrating! But I agree with Bob-Kat, you have turned this catastrophy of blogging into an amusing and creative post! Many (((hugs))) my dear Naomi!

Such language!! Dear Naomi, my MIL is visiting, and I am showing her the blogs of some of my blog buddies. I guess we caught you in a bad mood.

:-)

Sometiimes, Blogger just SUCKS!!!!

Oh, that's terrible! It's be furious!
I have taken to copying all the text I write outside Blogger, and then once I load the photos, I paste the text where I want it. Then when Blogger crashes, it's only a matter of reloading pix and pasting in text... instead of retyping everything.

Sunny day today! Sending you warm thoughts.

Oh, Naomi, I'm so terribly sorry. I sure could feel your frustration! And rightly so. Talk about annoying.
I don't have Blogger, so I've never run into this, but I can imagine how angry you are. Hopefully, you'll calm down and all will go well for you next time around.

Been there, done that!!

So sorry that Blogger kidnapped your blog post. We are so dependent on Blogger, aren't we, to help us do our talking? And then Blogger goes ahead and screws us royally.

Hope you will recapture your sense of calm. Head to your window and just enjoy the view.

Oh Naomi, I'm so sorry. But trust me, I loved this post because it really made me laugh!!! Your pictures and words (especially that last one...!!!) - perfectly chosen. So it was a good post after all.

Do what I do, write it up in notepad or something, then copy/paste it into blogger. I too, have learnt the hard way.

PS: feeling a bit better, thanks for asking. :)

I am so sorry! I have had the same thing happen. It is supposed to be impossible now, to lose a post, since they have started instant saving of posts. But I guess there is always the possibility of it. Time will heal your wounds, Naomi.

Ohhhhhh POOR Naomi! I'm sO sorry Blogger did that to you! I have had similar experience -- and WHY is it ALWAYS on the looooooong posts - it never happens on the Wordless Wednesday!? Well... I see the bee post up above - and I'm on my way to read it - every word! So I hope that's the one and that you have recovered by now.... (((Hugs)))

I am going to recommend you do the following:

1 - Get yourself a Google Mail account at www.gmail.com
2 - Once you've got that set up, download Google Talk. This is the instant messaging client that interfaces seamlessly with Google Mail.
3 - Add my main address - carmilevy AT gmail DOT com - to your list of friends.
4 - "Call" me on Google Talk any time you want a geek's perspective on how to minimize the risk of this ever happening again. You know I'll always do anything I can to help.

The blogger who helped me out of trouble and taught me a few things in the beginning of my blog life, gave me the best advice for blogging. She said..."back up, back up, back up!" So, I type by posts on Google email, do a copy paste when I get ready to go to Blogger. Thus, I have a back up copy in my email drafts, then often the copy is still on my machine from the paste process to Blogger.

When I, then, edit on the Blogger draft, I do a copy as though it would be a copy/paste job. Despite all that, I have once or so lost a draft I was working on, as maybe didn't get it copied before I lost it.

What I really dislike about this new Blogger, is that it's much harder to try and edit a piece, if I want to "view" the completed piece and find changes I want to make. I can't figure out how to get it back to edit again, so am just posting it to my blog, then immediately pulling it back. I don't like that, 'cause that orig. post goes to my email, not the newer one with changes. Sure wish new Blogger hadn't made that change recently. Don't know how to reach them and complain.
